Eyes
and shape of the face goes a long way to portray the personality of
your character...you may recognize some of the cast of "Cowboy
Bebop" below...I'll use my quick sketches of them to illustrate
my point. |
Evil

Heroic
|
Innocent

Eyes are thin
and dark. the pupil is smaller the more evil the character is
till there's no pupil at all. Face has sharp, angular features.
|
Strong jawline,
Eyes are bigger and rounder. Features are less sharp.
|
Eyes are huge.
Eyebrows hardly ever down. Face is softer and rounder

Kinda
get the idea? These rules aren't set in stone..I just want to give
you the idea of what to shoot for when you are making characters.
You have to really close your eyes and imagine your character in action.
How there face needs to look when saying the lines you will give them.
"I'll cut you face off" rolls much easier off of the left
characters tongue than the character on the right whereas, "Gee,
what's that?" works better for the character on the right than
on the left. "I've had enough of both of you..I'm going home"
works just fine for the center character.
